Within Rabobank we are seeking a talented and motivated (Junior) Market Data Analyst to join our dynamic Market Data Distribution Services Squad. This team is crucial to the bank's operations, responsible for distributing market data, covering a wide range of financial products and financial reference data, across the entire organization. We ensure that data is validated, adheres to the highest quality standards, and is accessible for essential processes such as market risk calculations, balance sheet management and derivatives valuation. The role also involves managing historical data and maintaining strong data governance practices.

You’ll work in an innovative, cross-functional and international squad that brings together both IT and business experts. We’re also in the midst of an exciting transformation project to replace our current data warehouse with a state-of-the-art enterprise market data management system. As part of this initiative, you’ll have the opportunity to actively contribute to the migration and implementation, offering significant opportunities for growth and hands-on experience in large-scale system transformations.

Top responsibilities:

• Collecting, validating and delivering accurate and timely market data throughout the bank.
• Maintain and manage historical market data used for market risk calculations.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and continuously improve data quality across systems.
• Create automatic data feeds in a centralized and standardized manner, improving data flow efficiency.
• Translate customer requests for new data feeds into workable product backlog items, ensuring clear communication with the development team.
• Assist in the migration and implementation of our new enterprise market data management system.
• Analyzing and identifying key limitations and implementing structural improvements with the help of our highly experienced in-house developers to optimize data processes and workflows, ensuring seamless integration of market data across Rabobank’s various banking systems.

You will become an expert on financial market data in on- and offshore markets. Beside that, you can experience and contribute to how modern technology can help increase data quality and traceability and can make our team’s work more efficient.

Our department

The Area Valuation & Market Data falls within the Tribe Finance & Product Control, which is part of the Risk and Finance domain and responsible for providing reliable financial and management information for global supported businesses to the Wholesale and Rural, Treasury and Local Bank businesses in a timely, efficient and professional manner. Reliable financial information is supported by an independent daily valuation of financial instruments in the bank’s trading and banking portfolios and analysis of evidence of performed controls.

You and your talent:

• You hold a degree with a focus on Finance, Economics, Business Information/Intelligence or a degree in another discipline but with a keen interest in the financial sector.
• Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset
• Basic understanding of market data and financial markets
• Interest in data quality, governance, and automation
• You have a tangible interest in IT related systems and processes and enjoy optimizing these.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment
• You have focus on the customer.
• You are able to clearly express your ideas in English both orally and in written form.
• Can communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Experience with or knowledge of enterprise data management systems is considered a plus
• Experience with business analysis and identifying bottlenecks and limitations in processes
• Knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters or other data vendor systems is considered a benefit.
• Knowledge of programming language is considered a benefit, such as Python, SQL or VBA.
